BECAUSE HE GAVE
WHAT IS TITHING?
A tithe (which means “tenth”) is defined as the first 10% of a person’s income that is to be given back to the local church and is a principle that is taught throughout the entire Bible. When we tithe, we are expressing worship in the one tangible way that we have to put God first in our lives.
Bringing our tithes is an opportunity for us to give God our thanks, show God we trust Him and fight against greed in our hearts… all while allowing us to be a part of the most important work in life that is spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ!
If you would like to read more about what the Bible has to say about tithing, check out these passages: Leviticus 27:30, Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:6-10, Matthew 6:19-24 and I Corinthians 16:1-2.
BENEFITS OF ONLINE GIVING
First Fruits - In Proverbs 3:9 we are taught to honor the Lord with the "First Fruits" of our labor. By setting up a recurring contribution that is scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify you can ensure that your First Fruits are given back to God.
Building God’s House – In addition to giving your monthly tithes & offerings as “First Fruits”, you can also schedule a one-time or recurring contribution to our More Initiative
Simplicity - You will not need to remember if you gave this month or send in your offering checks when you are out of town.
Security - Online giving is even more secure than giving with a check or envelope in that an electronic gift cannot be lost or stolen.
